Mechanics Behind Vipassana Meditation

This is a unique 4-week programme that does not exist in the meditation and mindfulness teaching circuit.

The Vipassana meditation movement has been popularised over the last 10 years with the ‘infamous’ 10-day silent meditation retreat (where you are not allowed to speak, read and write) on offer in many countries of the world. However, before you go, do you really know what you are getting into? Or, when you have finished your retreat, do you really have a solid understanding of how to move and act through the world with this transformative practice?

This programme outlines the mechanics behind the practice of vipassana, exploring both theory and practice. However, the programme also adds more texture to the practices that some retreats overlook or are not specifically focused for western meditators.

The programme will outline the milestones of a progressive meditative development that will assist students to lead to subtler stages of body-mind process.

This programme is suitable for those:

• who have basic meditation experience but want more exposure to vipassana meditation
• for those who have completed a 10-day vipassana retreat but need specific guidance on how to accelerate their practice
• for experienced meditators who want to refine the fundamentals of their vipassana practice.

Ed Niembro, Senior Mindfulness Meditation Teacher (Vipassana lineage)

Ed has been a practitioner of Vipassana meditation since 1998 and received training as a mindfulness teacher, under the Vipassana lineage of Jack Kornfield & Tara Brach. He is now a certified senior mindfulness teacher since 2018. Ed worked as a mindfulness consultant in Australia & France, introducing mindfulness into the corporate workplace, and became INSEAD Business School’s resident mindfulness facilitator from 2016 to 2019. Ed ran his own meditation & yoga centre in France before setting up Meditacion Yoga Barcelona in 2020.
