Meet Edward Niembro:
Your Guide to Mindfulness Meditation and Inner Peace at Meditacion Yoga Barcelona
My Story
Hello, I’m Edward (Ed) Niembro, the heart behind Meditacion Yoga Barcelona.
Originating from the vibrant city of Sydney, Australia, I embarked on a transformative journey that led me to Barcelona in September 2019. As the founder of Ed Yoga Fontainebleau and the pioneering Le Centre de Meditation & Yoga in France, my path has been deeply enriched by both Eastern and Western traditions of mindfulness and yoga.
A Diverse Background United by Mindfulness
With over two decades of experience in sustainability and project management across Asia and Europe, my professional journey has been diverse. Yet, the consistent thread through it all has been my dedication to Vipassana meditation since 1998. Under the esteemed lineage of Jack Kornfield & Tara Brach, I’ve honed my practice and teaching, becoming a certified senior mindfulness teacher accredited by the International Meditation Teachers Association since 2018.
Certified Hatha Yoga Instruction with a Global Perspective
My yoga journey has taken me from obtaining my Hatha yoga teacher certification with the International Yoga Teachers Association (IYTA) in Sydney to advancing my practice with Jivamukti Global in India (2020). This unique blend of experiences has enabled me to bring a comprehensive approach to teaching, one that merges the physical with the profoundly spiritual.
Bringing Mindfulness to the Corporate and Educational Sectors
My tenure as INSEAD Business School’s resident mindfulness facilitator and my international experience introducing meditation and yoga into various workplaces have underscored the transformative power of mindfulness in managing stress and enhancing well-being.
Personal Transformation Through Mindfulness
My own life’s challenges, including the loss of my parents, a divorce, and starting anew in Barcelona, have deeply informed my practice and teaching philosophy. These experiences have solidified my belief in the power of meditation and yoga to navigate the ‘10,000 joys and sorrows’ of life.
Private Sessions and Workshops in Barcelona’s Unique Meditation Nook
At Meditacion Yoga Barcelona, my approach combines the depth of vipassana meditation with the dynamic practices of Jivamukti and Iyengar within the Hatha yoga tradition.
Whether you’re seeking clarity on your life’s intentions or need a spiritual compass through challenging times, my small group/private sessions and workshops are tailored to guide you on your journey.
Embark on Your Journey with Meditacion Yoga Barcelona
If you’re ready to explore your inner world and discover the transformative power of mindfulness, I’m here to guide you. With clarity of intention, you’ll find the experience deeply rewarding. And if you’re still seeking that clarity, let’s uncover it together.
Hasta luego!

Private Sessions with Ed
Speak to Ed about your needs. Meditation was traditionally taught one-on-one with spiritual masters passing down their wisdom to students in a way that was meaningful to each individual. Today, private meditation classes are still the best way to learn.
